From this to this…

Well this is my first blog ever so I’m going to keep it nice and simple. I thought I’d explain more about a newborn session with me. I cover all of Dublin but I do my sessions in the comfort of your home. I do travel so please enquire if you are that bit further away.

As newborn sessions are best done when baby is between 5-14 days old this means that you don’t have to try and organise yourself for an excursion. With the first baby making it out of the house with everything can take a bit of practice so I like to make it as easy as possible for my clients. I will bring absolutely everything that I need so you don’t have to worry about a thing. All I need is a room with a nice, big window. I have shot everywhere from apartments to country cottages and have always made enough room.

When I arrive we will have little chat. Mum can feed baby while I set up all my gear. When baby is fed Mum and Dad can go and have a cup of tea or a rest while I work with baby on my beanbag. Then I move on to parent shots. I always shoot parent shots in black and white. It is classically beautiful and very flattering. If there are sibling shots I will always include family portraits and all the siblings together with their new little brother or sister. Finally I do my prop shots. I have a variety of props available that you can choose from.

I allow up to 4 hours for a session to make sure that baby has plenty of time to feed and snuggle. My aim for your session is to create an environment for baby to be totally comfortable in and to capture those tiny details- those chubby cheeks, those side rolls and little tufts of hair. I want preserve the wonderful connection between baby and parents- this overwhelming new love that has just blossomed. I want to give you an experience that is a million miles away from a rushed chain studio. I want you to enjoy your session as much as the beautiful images that will come from it.
