Is there any more exciting time in your life than waiting for your first baby to arrive? It is such a wonderful, exciting phase in a woman’s life. Soon you will barely remember it- those sleepless newborn nights have a way of wiping everything from your mind. Maternity Portrait Photography is a beautiful way of capturing this special time in your life forever. I specialise in maternity, newborn and baby photography covering Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Louth so you know that you are in safe hands with me.

I can arrange professional make-up and hair services to make you look and feel your very best. Your maternity session is styled for you personally and can be as natural or as dramatic as you like. It can be indoor- studio style or outdoor- the beach at sunrise is stunning! You can have a session just for you or you can include your partner and older children if you like.

How fabulous does Mairead look here at her maternity photography session- she really had that pregnancy glow! As a hyperemesis gravidarium sufferer in pregnancy, I can assure you that the glow most definitely passed me by. Despite that, I still arranged my own maternity session as I genuinely believe that it is so important to document this magical stage. And I am so happy now that I did it.

Your maternity photography session is best done when you are 36-38 weeks pregnant. This is when you will have a lovely full bump but are still able to move comfortably! After your session, we can cast your bump if this is something that you choose to do. Bump casts are a lovely memento of pregnancy. A physical reminder of your current shape. Your bump cast can then be used at your newborn photography session and it is lovely to see baby all curled up in the cast of their first home.

I would love to chat with you about planning your perfect maternity session. Please feel free to give me a call on 0877552092 or send me an email here

Delivery Day

It was delivery day on Friday and Ger and I drove all over Dublin delivering memories and artwork to people to treasure forever. I had lots of newborn images and some sitter sessions.

It was so lovely to receive all these gorgeous messages afterwards.

“I love them. I love them all. Thank you so much”

“Thanks so much. So happy with the photos. Beautiful finishing touch the way they were presented. Will be recommending you to family and friends.”

“They are beautiful. Thanks again so much.”

Thank you all for letting me do what I love. I appreciate all the support and enjoyed working with you all so much.

Pictures on walls and why they matter to your family

As a mobile newborn and family photographer covering all of Dublin and the commuter belt, I see so many different homes. And nothing makes me happier than a wall covered in portraits. Research has shown that printed portraits on the wall enhance a child’s self-esteem. And it’s easy to see why- you are showing your child, in a very visible way, that they matter, that they are important and that they are so loved.

Nothing makes me happier than hearing from a previous client. Especially when they say the magic words “We need to finish the wall”. Look at the beautiful wall Lorraine has created in her home of her gorgeous family. After doing baby’s newborn session a year ago, we have just done their cake smash. It was so much fun and we have captured more happy memories forever. It makes me so happy to see my work on my client’s walls. Photographs are meant to be displayed not hidden on a cd or a USB.

I would love to see any more walls from previous clients if they would like to share their pictures in the comments. Feel free to contact me on or 087  7552092 to plan your very own session to fill your home with magical portraits of those you love the most.

Newborn Photography Customised for You

My newborn photography sessions are held in the comfort of your home and are completely bespoke to you. Before each session we can plan colour schemes, you can choose your favourite props from my wide selection or you can leave it all up to me. It’s entirely your decision. I love making sure your session is as enjoyable and as personal as possible. I always ask that if you have anything specific that you would like to use to let me know in advance of your newborn session. This gives me time to plan how to incorporate it best and create a really amazing image for you to enjoy for years to come.

Here are some examples of personal items used during sessions.

Using treasured family teddies is a really popular way of incorporating something special into your newborn photography session.

I hope that has given you some ideas for personalising your session. I would love to hear your thoughts below in the comments section and look forward to hearing from you to arrange your bespoke newborn photography session in Dublin, Wicklow, Meath or Kildare.

Newborn Photography Safety

Often when I go to a home and am showing mum or dad how I achieve an image or a pose they say  “Oh I had no idea that’s how it was done- I thought you just balanced them like that!”. I am passionate about newborn safety. It is scary to realise that anybody with a camera can call themselves a newborn photographer- without any training at all in safe posing or even experience with babies. I pride myself in continuous training to make sure that I am always improving. I have trained with some of the best newborn photographers both here and abroad to make sure that I am attaining industry standards of safety.

I take safety very seriously. I’m sure all my past clients can attest that sometimes I am over-cautious but to me there is absolutely nothing more important than the safety and comfort of your precious baby. So for example, when you see an image like this:

Newborn baby head on hands pose.

You may be surprised to learn that it is a composite image. Baby is never left unsupported in this image. Mum’s hands are holding her little head at all times.

Being a newborn and baby photographer requires a unique set of skills (and patience) and there is a worldwide organisation that exists to support photographers who wish to have access to safety training and resources that we can use to provide clients with a better service. I’m delighted to be a member of BANPAS (Baby &Newborn Photography Association)  and you will be able to find me on their directory of photographers here . They also have a fabulous Facebook Page for pregnant and new parents here.  I have been a proud member of BANPAS since I first began my journey in newborn and baby photography.

If you are in Dublin or surrounding areas I’d be delighted to talk to you about how I can create a beautiful gallery of images for your newborn and very happy to chat to you about how I do that safely. Please contact me for booking and availability information on 087 7552092or at I look forward to hearing from you.

Please don’t worry about your session!

What an exciting blog title but this is such an important topic to me. I have had a few mummies say to me in the past few weeks as I arrived that they had genuinely considered cancelling their session that morning. Baby hadn’t slept/ they hadn’t slept/ baby was unsettled/ their todddler had gone crazy/ the house was crazy. Honestly I have heard every reason before. I am genuinely so impressed when I go to a house and somebody who is dressed (and just brought home a baby) answers the door. Go you! You have put clothes on. Bonus points if you have brushed your teeth. That is my level of expectation I have from my clients. Your life has just gone through a massive change and I think you are doing amazing just letting me through the door!

I had a baby with terrible silent reflux so don’t worry I am used to unsettled even cranky babies. I have a crazy toddler. I still haven’t lost the baby weight (he’s three!). So please, please trust me I understand. I do not judge. I have trained with amazing newborn photographers both here in Ireland and abroad to ensure that I have the highest standards in posing and safety. I adore being a newborn photographer. I love coming to your home in Dublin or further afield in Leinster to create beautiful professional portraits of your baby and your new family.

Sleeping newborn baby with flowing wrap

Here are some words from some of my wonderful, previous clients that may help to put you at ease.

Siobhain was an absolute pleasure to deal with, so calm & gentle with baby, and she made the whole process so easy and enjoyable for us. And all in the comfort of our own home. We were absolutely thrilled with the beautiful photos she took. We were so glad to have captured that very special time in our lives and we will treasure them always (Rosie).

Could not praise Siobhain enough, from her patience with our son when he wasn’t having any of it,to her attention to detail. So in love with all the pictures (Tanya).

You were so good with Caiden and made it a very relaxing experience (Edel).

Gorgeous sleeping baby

I could not recommend Siobhain enough, she took amazing photo’s of both my newborn son and 3 year old daughter and even convinced me to get in some which I am so happy I did, as she captured some amazing photo’s that I will treasure forever. I was not sure if my daughter would get in the photo’s as she can be quite shy but miraculously the opposite happened, we couldn’t keep her out of them, this was all down to Siobhain. She was also amazing with my newborn son and so patient. The best bit is that she comes to you which makes it all so relaxed (Denise).

If that’s not enough to convince you then let me finish with this. While I am minding your baby you will get to drink a HOT cup of tea with BOTH hands- and really what more could you ask for!

Mummy- Be in the picture!

This is what I like about photographs. They’re proof that once, even if just for a heartbeat, everything was perfect.
___ Jodi Picault

When you bring your baby home for the first time you are living in a constant state of disbelief (what you’re letting me take this baby home?) and wonderment. You can lose hours to eyelashes and days to tiny toes. It is a sleep- deprived, special, magical, amazing time. Days are long, nights are longer but trust me the weeks will fly by!

That is where I come in. It is my job to freeze time. To capture your pure, perfect love. Trust me your baby will never fit in your arms again like they do in those first few perfect days. You will be tired. There is no hiding that. But I am in an in home photographer based in Dublin who travels around Leinster. I come to you. I will do everything in my power to make your portrait experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

It is my job to capture your beauty and this new, breathtaking, all-encompassing love. I will make you beautiful (sshhh I don’t have to work very hard- you are beautiful and have never been more powerful).

I often tell my clients who are reluctant to get photographed a week after having a baby that they have no choice. Let me try and then they do not need to choose those images of themselves if they do not love them. Every mum falls in love with them.

When your child is grown and goes looking through family albums looking for pictures of the two of you- what will you tell them? I was tired/ hadn’t washed my hair/ wanted to lose some weight? Your child does not want you to lose weight to have these memories with you. You are perfect to your child RIGHT NOW! As you are, at your weight now, tired and in elasticated pants. You are mummy now and that overcomes all those objections.

Get in the picture! The next time your husband picks up his phone to sneak a quick snap of you let him! It doesn’t matter if you are in your dressing gown, if you haven’t slept in days. Capture this time. There is no going back. You deserve to exist in photographs. You are a mother. You are a woman. You are powerful beyond measure. You can give life.

I cannot wait to help you capture this special time in your life. Enjoy every moment.

2016 My Best Year Ever

A Good Life is a Collection of Happy Moments

                                                                                                                                                                                                    ___ Denis Waitley

I am so lucky that my job is capturing happy moments at a very special time in someone’s life. Whether it be photographing a newborn baby at just 6 days old, a cake smash for a first birthday or the ages in between- these are the wonderful moments that make life joyous. Every home that I have entered I can feel the love within those walls. Feel the pride in this baby, this tiny miracle that you have just created. Mum exhausted, dad overwhelmed and both bursting at the seams with love and pride. This year I have photographed dozens of babies and I will share some of them with you below.

My business has grown beyond my expectations and I am busier that I ever expected. I am so thankful for this and I do not take a second of it for granted. Thanks you to every client who has trusted me with their most precious belongings and allowed me the privilege of sharing and documenting these happy, happy times.

Life passes far to quickly and what we do not record we can easily forget. This year I was so lucky to train with and learn from some amazing photographers both here in Ireland and abroad. The knowledge and the confidence that these woman have given me has helped me beyond words. So thank you to Tracy Willis (, Lyn Chapman ( and Sujata Setia ( I was also lucky to have the amazing Sujata take my family portraits and ensure that I practice what I preach. These portraits are framed and hanging on my walls already to remind me of my luck in having such a wonderfully supportive family. Huge, giant, enormous thanks to my number one fan and supporter my husband Ger. To my wonderful mum and mother in law who are always ready to lend a hand (or a house) to help me and my business flourish.

2017 is an adventure that I cannot wait to begin. I am hoping to go from strength to strength. I shall be offering new, different sessions and a selection of new wonderful products. I am so excited. I have travelled all over Ireland the UK phographing babies this year and I am so excited to be able to keep doing what I love.

Thank you to all my wonderful clients who have made this possible and to all the babies that I am going to photograph in 2017. Christmas Tree Farm Mini Sessions

I am so excited to meet you and your family in the magical Glencullen Christmas Tree Farm for my Christmas Mini Sessions. Your little ones will be able to pose amongst the Christmas trees for some beautiful outdoor portraits. I will then have two set ups for you to choose from inside. One an elegant, neutral backdrop for some classic portraits or a fun bedtime setup to showcase their Christmas jammies.

The session fee is €89 and this includes your session with two setups and 5 digital images of your choice from your online gallery.  Your gallery will be ready for your private viewing by the 1st December to ensure that you have time to order those Christmas cards and portraits for Nana and Granddad.

These sessions are mostly child based but parents will have a chance to jump in for some family images amongst the trees if they wish. They are for immediate family only. Babies must be able to sit independently- these are not suitable for newborns. Cousins may book sessions back to back to facilitate a larger family group photo.

Glencullen Christmas Tree Farm is 10 minutes away from Exit 15 on the M50 and is situated near Johnny Foxes Pub in the Dublin Mountains. I have bought my Christmas tree there for several years and it is a wonderful, magical family experience.

Belly Casting and Baby Photography

Baby In Mother's Belly Cast

Belly Casting is one of the other services that I offer. There is something so lovely about seeing baby all curled up in a perfect model of mummy’s bump.

It is so easy for you. I come to your home and bring everything that is required. It only takes around half an hour – 45 minutes. We then have a perfect replica of your bump to place your precious bundle in at their Newborn Session. So simple but so perfect!

I take the cast home after we make it (at between 36-38 weeks pregnancy) and I thicken and prime it to make it smooth for baby. Mummy keeps the cast after her session as a lovely memento of her pregnancy.
