Often when I go to a home and am showing mum or dad how I achieve an image or a pose they say “Oh I had no idea that’s how it was done- I thought you just balanced them like that!”. I am passionate about newborn safety. It is scary to realise that anybody with a camera can call themselves a newborn photographer- without any training at all in safe posing or even experience with babies. I pride myself in continuous training to make sure that I am always improving. I have trained with some of the best newborn photographers both here and abroad to make sure that I am attaining industry standards of safety.
I take safety very seriously. I’m sure all my past clients can attest that sometimes I am over-cautious but to me there is absolutely nothing more important than the safety and comfort of your precious baby. So for example, when you see an image like this:
You may be surprised to learn that it is a composite image. Baby is never left unsupported in this image. Mum’s hands are holding her little head at all times.
Being a newborn and baby photographer requires a unique set of skills (and patience) and there is a worldwide organisation that exists to support photographers who wish to have access to safety training and resources that we can use to provide clients with a better service. I’m delighted to be a member of BANPAS (Baby &Newborn Photography Association) and you will be able to find me on their directory of photographers here . They also have a fabulous Facebook Page for pregnant and new parents here. I have been a proud member of BANPAS since I first began my journey in newborn and baby photography.
If you are in Dublin or surrounding areas I’d be delighted to talk to you about how I can create a beautiful gallery of images for your newborn and very happy to chat to you about how I do that safely. Please contact me for booking and availability information on 087 7552092or at email@example.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
